The Jarvis Lecture by Tony Kirkham

Tony provided a memorable evening to an audience of about 250 attending the event at the Halifax Central Library. His speech was full of information delivered with acumen and wit and the accompanied visuals of Kew Gardens were gorgeous. KEW might see a huge increase in visitors, thanks to his visit to Halifax.

A Delightful Day - The Victoria Day Tea Party

Our Victoria Day tea party was a great success!

Not only did we have nearly 200 guests of all ages attend, but it was great to see everyone dress in their finest! It was a sunny day, the Lord Nelson hotel was a wonderfully historic setting, and many hats and fascinators adorned the splendid ball room. Tea, sandwiches, and of course, cream teas were enjoyed while guests were entertained with music provided by Hausmusik and Symphony Nova Scotia.

Queen Victoria even graced us with her presence and gave our awards for various "hat" categories! Two young guests won an award for the "most rambunctious hats"!

Don't forget to join us next year!
